Short answers to the questions we hear most – on platforms, data and security, working with apps, teams and reports.

What is ancoreMind?​

ancoreMind is the Qlik consultant that does the work for you – in any Qlik app, on every Qlik platform, whenever you ask. It sits as a chat next to your Qlik Sense sheet, answers questions about your data, builds and changes sheets, charts and master items, finds where things are used and creates reports. See Welcome.

Product and platforms​

Which Qlik platforms does ancoreMind support?​

Qlik Cloud, Qlik Sense Enterprise client-managed and Qlik Sense Desktop. ancoreMind is a visualization extension, so it runs wherever Qlik Sense runs. See Qlik platforms.

Can I continue my work on another platform?​

Yes. Workspaces, Conversations, the Library and the Knowledge belong to your ancoreCloud account, not to a Qlik app. Start in Qlik Sense Desktop and continue in Qlik Cloud, and insert charts from the Library into an app on any platform. See Objects and sheets.

What do I need to install?​

The ancoreMind extension, once per Qlik environment. In Qlik Cloud, an administrator also adds two entries to the content security policy. Nothing changes in your apps or on your servers. See Installation.

Which browsers are supported?​

Current versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Safari. Pop-ups must be allowed for your Qlik Sense address, because sign-in opens a small window. See Requirements.

Which languages does ancoreMind understand?​

Ask in German, English, French or any other language. ancoreMind answers in the language you write in. Field and measure names stay as they are in the app.

Data and security​

Does ancoreMind calculate the numbers itself?​

No. Every figure is calculated by the Qlik engine of the app you have open – with your selections, your section access and the app's master measures. See Ask questions.

Can ancoreMind show data I am not allowed to see?​

No. ancoreMind works with your own Qlik user. It sees the sheets, objects and data you see, and section access applies.

Does ancoreMind need a Qlik API key or OAuth client?​

No. ancoreMind runs in your browser inside your Qlik Sense session and does not need or store any Qlik credentials. See How ancoreMind works.

What is sent to the AI service?​

What the question needs: your message and the recent messages of the Conversation, the relevant structure of the app (names and expressions) and matching passages from the Knowledge base. Not your data model and not your app. The way of a question is shown step by step in How ancoreMind works; the technical details are in Security and privacy.

Where is my data stored, and is it used to train AI models?​

Conversations, files and Knowledge are stored by ancoreSoft in Microsoft Azure data centers in Germany. The AI models run in Microsoft Azure OpenAI within the European Union. Under the Azure OpenAI terms, Microsoft does not use requests or answers to train models. See Security and privacy.

Working with apps​

Can ancoreMind change my apps?​

Yes – sheets, charts, master items, variables, themes and object properties. See Build sheets and charts.

Does ancoreMind change load scripts?​

No.

Can ancoreMind delete something without asking?​

No. Before ancoreMind deletes a sheet, a chart, a report, a master item or a variable, it asks you – and tells you whether anything else uses it. Mails go out only when you select Send. See Changes and confirmations.

Can I find out where a field or master measure is used?​

Yes. Ask Where is the master measure Margin used? and ancoreMind lists every sheet and chart that depends on it. See Where used.

Teams and customers​

Can I work with colleagues?​

Yes. Invite them to a Shared Workspace. Conversations are open to all members or only to the people you select, and files in the Library are shared with the Workspace or the Conversation. See Workspaces.

I work for several customers. Is their knowledge kept apart?​

Yes. Use one Workspace per customer. Documents, decisions and rules of one Workspace are never used in another.

Can ancoreMind follow our design guide?​

Yes. Let ancoreMind read the guide with From a document… in the Rulebook: it proposes the rules it finds, with the page they come from, and you pick the ones to keep. You can also say rules in the chat, for example From now on, money in € without decimals. ancoreMind follows them in every app of the Workspace. See Rulebook.

Can I use different accounts in different browser tabs?​

Yes. Each browser tab has its own ancoreMind account – for example your consulting firm's account in one tab and the account with your customer's email address in another, even in the same Qlik app. Switch account and Sign out affect only the current tab. See One account per tab.

Which Qlik rights apply when I switch the ancoreMind account?​

Always those of the Qlik user you are signed in with in the browser. The ancoreMind account decides which Workspaces and files you see; your Qlik sign-in decides which apps and data you see.

Reports​

Can ancoreMind create PDF or PowerPoint reports?​

Yes, together with the ancoreShare extension: PDF, PowerPoint, Excel data export, and PDF converted to Word, PowerPoint, HTML or PNG. See Reports.

Can reports run on a schedule?​

Yes, in Qlik Cloud with ancoreMate – on a schedule or after a reload, without anyone opening the app. See Reports.
