Installation

Install once per Qlik environment – then add ancoreMind to any app.

On this page you find:

  • the installation in Qlik Cloud, including the two content security policy entries,
  • the installation in Qlik Sense Enterprise client-managed,
  • the installation in Qlik Sense Desktop.
For your security team

How ancoreMind handles data is shown in How ancoreMind works; all technical details are in Security and privacy.

ancoreMind comes as a small extension package (ZIP file). An administrator installs it once per Qlik Sense environment. The package is small: it contains only a starter, and the ancoreMind program itself is loaded from the ancoreSoft CDN when the app opens.

Download

The ancoreMind extension package will be available for download here soon. Until then, please ask your ancoreSoft contact for it.

Qlik Cloud

You need the Tenant Admin role.

  1. Upload the extension

In Qlik Cloud, open the Administration activity center and go to Extensions. Select Add, drag the ancoreMind ZIP file into the dialog and select Add.

The extension appears in the list as ancoreMind in the bundle ancoreSoft Toolbox.

  2. Allow ancoreMind in the content security policy

Qlik Cloud only lets extensions load from and connect to addresses that are listed in the content security policy. In Administration → Content Security Policy, select Add and create these two entries. Enter the origin without https://.

    NameOriginDirectives
    CDN ancoreSoftcdn.ancoresoft.comconnect-src, font-src, img-src, script-src, style-src
    ancorecloud.comancorecloud.comconnect-src, connect-src (WebSocket)

You can choose the names freely. If you already use ancoreShare, the entry for cdn.ancoresoft.com may exist – make sure it has all five directives.

  3. Done

Every app developer in the tenant can now add ancoreMind to a sheet.

Qlik Sense Enterprise client-managed

You need administrator access to the Qlik Management Console (QMC).

  1. Import the extension

In the QMC, open Extensions and select Import at the bottom. Choose the ancoreMind ZIP file (no password is needed) and select Import.

  2. Grant read access

Every user who works with ancoreMind needs at least read access to the extension. Check this under Security rules or in the User access view of the extension.

  3. Allow the connections

The browsers of your users must reach https://cdn.ancoresoft.com and https://ancorecloud.com, including WebSocket connections to wss://ancorecloud.com. If your network uses a proxy or firewall, allow these addresses there.

Unlike Qlik Cloud, client-managed Qlik Sense needs no content security policy entries and no changes to the virtual proxy. Sign-in uses the same small pop-up window, so pop-ups must be allowed for your Qlik Sense address.

Hard refresh

If a browser does not show the new extension right away, reload the hub with an empty cache: open the developer tools (F12), turn on Disable cache in the Network tab and press Ctrl+F5.

Qlik Sense Desktop

  1. Unpack the extension

Unpack the ancoreMind ZIP file into the extensions folder of Qlik Sense Desktop:

    C:\Users\<your user>\Documents\Qlik\Sense\Extensions\

The result is a folder with the extension files directly inside, for example ...\Extensions\ancoreMind\ancoreMind.qext.

  2. Restart Qlik Sense Desktop

Close Qlik Sense Desktop completely and start it again. ancoreMind now appears under Custom objects in the assets panel.

Qlik Sense Desktop needs internet access to cdn.ancoresoft.com and ancorecloud.com.

Next step

Add ancoreMind to a sheet.
