Change many objects at once
One sentence instead of hundreds of property panels. A customer with six apps of about 50 sheets each has thousands of objects – and almost every request touches many of them: a new number format, a new corporate color, a measure with a better formula. This is where ancoreMind saves the most time.
On this page you learn:
- which everyday requests ancoreMind handles across many charts at once,
- what to say for each of them,
- what ancoreMind checks and reports when it changes many objects.
How it works
Say what should change and where – on this sheet, in every chart, on the Finance sheet. ancoreMind finds the objects first, changes exactly those and lists what it changed.
"Translate all titles on this sheet into English" – five titles in ten seconds.

Situations from everyday Qlik work
"Every amount should look the same – in every chart"
One chart shows 15,012,345, the next 15.0M, the third €15 M. The customer wants one format everywhere.
- Show revenue in every chart in millions with one decimal.
- Show every measure on the Finance sheet as euros with two decimals.
By hand: open every chart, every measure, every number format panel.
"The formula is in every chart – and now it changes"
Over the years, many charts got their own copy of the same formula instead of the master measure. Now the definition changes.
- Use the master measure Margin % in every chart that calculates Sum(Margin) / Sum(Sales) itself.
- Replace the master measure Margin with Margins in every chart.
ancoreMind finds the formula however it is written – on every sheet, also in text objects – turns it into a real reference to the master measure and names each object it changed. Before you delete the old measure, check that nothing else uses it: see Where used.
By hand: searching chart by chart – and for KPIs, deleting the measure and adding it again.
"A field got a new name – and every expression still uses the old one"
After a change to the data model, Region is now called Area. Every dimension, measure, set expression and color formula that uses the old name has to follow.
- The field Region is now called Area – replace it in every expression of this app.
ancoreMind first shows how many expressions it would change. Narrow it down – for example to one sheet – and you see the objects; then confirm. Nothing changes before you confirm. It finds the field in dimensions, measures, master items, set expressions, titles, text objects and in color, sort and condition expressions – and labels with the same name follow. To see first what depends on the field, ask where it is used.
By hand: opening every chart, every expression and every color formula.
"Each region in the same color – in every chart"
North is blue in one chart, green in the next. The customer wants every region in its own color, everywhere.
- Give each region the same color in every chart.
Every chart that shows the regions follows – across sheets, also pie charts and charts in containers.
"Our new corporate design should reach the charts that already exist"
A new theme or style guide changes what you build next – the existing charts keep their old look.
- Make this sheet calm and modern: rounded corners, soft shadow, light grey background.
- Give all KPIs on this sheet a light blue background.
Put the style guide into the Rulebook for everything ancoreMind builds from now on, and keep a look as a style template to give many existing charts the same look in one step – also the charts inside containers.
"Make this one look exactly like that one"
A format painter for Qlik: one chart has the right look, the others should follow.
- Make "Costs by region" look exactly like "Sales by region".
- Turn every KPI on this sheet into a gauge.
"The app has to work in English, too"
- Translate all titles and subtitles on this sheet into English.
Every chart gets its own translated title and subtitle, and text objects are translated too – in the app itself, for everyone. To let each user read the app in their own language without changing it, see Translate your apps.
By hand: about a minute per chart, for every chart.
"Ten charts from the workshop, ten different looks"
Quick charts from a workshop or a prototype: make them one family before the app goes live – with the sentences above, or with one style template for all of them.
What happens
- Find first, then change. For a replacement, ancoreMind first looks up where the measure, dimension or variable is used – on every sheet – and then changes exactly those objects.
- It tells you what it did. The answer lists the objects it changed and the ones it could not change, with the reason.
- Up to 30 objects per step. Larger changes run in several steps within the same answer.
- Master visualizations are changed through the master visualization, so every sheet that uses it follows. To change a single copy, ask ancoreMind to unlink it first.
