Conversations
Each Conversation is a meeting room in your office. One topic, its own files and the people taking part – open to all members of the Workspace, or private for the people you invite. The office itself is explained in Workspaces.
On this page you learn:
- how to change rooms and open a new one,
- who gets into a room – and what the others see,
- how to talk to ancoreMind and to your colleagues in the same room.
How it works
The bar at the bottom of the chat is the sign on the door: it shows the office and the room you are in, for example Sales team › Q3 review. Select the Conversation there to change the room.
- Change the room – another Conversation in the same office. The office's documents and rules stay at hand; the room brings its own files and participants.
- Open a room for a new topic – for all members of the office, or private for the people you invite.
- Pick it up later – a room keeps its talk and files, also tomorrow and in another Qlik app.

Change the room
Select the Conversation in the bar at the bottom of the chat window and choose another one. In the compact chat, a short list opens in place of the chat; ‹ Chat takes you back. To change the office, select the Workspace in the same bar – see Change the office.
Workspace – in the menu ☰ or on the left of the full view – shows the same in more detail, with the tabs Workspaces, Conversations, Members, Rules and Translations. Search Conversations finds a room in a long list; switch from Active to Include archived to see archived ones too.
Open a meeting room – create a Conversation
Open Workspace › Conversations and choose New conversation at the top right. Enter a Conversation title, choose the Access and select Create conversation:
| Access | Who gets into the room |
|---|---|
| All workspace members | An open room: everyone in the office, also members who join later. |
| Selected members | A private room: only the members you invite. Others do not see what is inside. |
Owners and Admins of the Workspace see that a Conversation with selected members exists, shown as Private · you are not a participant, but they cannot read it.
To change who takes part later, open Workspace › Members and select Edit members under the Conversation – the creator of the Conversation and the Owner of the Workspace can do this. A Conversation with access for all members shows This Conversation follows Workspace membership.
Talk to ancoreMind and to people in the room
In a shared Conversation, the button at the left of the message box decides who you are talking to:
- Ask ancoreMind… – ancoreMind answers, and everybody in the Conversation sees question and answer.
- Message members… – your message goes to the people in the Conversation only; ancoreMind does not answer.
Everyone in the Conversation sees new messages as they arrive.
Rename, archive, restore, delete
Archiving puts a room into storage – nothing is lost, and you can bring it back. Open the menu ⋮ of the Conversation in Workspace › Conversations:
- Rename changes the name for everybody.
- Archive… moves it out of the list. Nothing is deleted.
- Restore brings an archived Conversation back. Choose Include archived to find it.
- Delete permanently… deletes the Conversation with its messages for everyone. The confirmation names the files that are deleted with it. This cannot be undone.
The Owner of the Workspace and the person who created the Conversation can do this; Admins too, for Conversations open to all members.
To leave a Conversation with selected members, open Workspace › Members and choose Leave conversation… in the menu next to your name. The person who created the Conversation cannot leave it.
