Long-running actions

Some actions take longer than an automation tool waits for a normal call. ancoreMate handles them so that the next step of your flow simply gets the result.

How it works​

ancoreMate starts the work in Qlik Cloud and answers right away that the result is not there yet. The automation tool then asks again regularly (every 10 seconds) until the result is there:

  • Power Automate does this by itself; in the run history the action simply shows as running. It waits until the action's time limit is reached. You can change the limit in the action under Settings → Timeout.
  • n8n: the node waits for the result, for at most 6 hours.

You do not have to build loops or delays yourself.

Power Apps does not wait for long-running actions; they return an empty result there. Run them from a flow that the app calls. See Use ancoreMate in Power Apps.

Reload app and wait​

Reload app and wait tells you in Succeeded whether the reload worked.

  • Fail when the reload fails (default: on) makes the action fail with the error of the load script. Turn it off to continue with the result and decide in the flow what happens, for example send the Log by mail.

  • If the app is already reloading decides what happens when another reload of the app is running or waiting:

  • Variables set values for variables of the load script for this one reload. Choose the variable from the list of the app's variables and enter the value. The load script must not set the variable before it uses it.

Parallel reloads​

To reload several apps at the same time, start each with Reload app (it returns at once with the reload ID) and then wait for all of them with Wait for reloads.

Very long reloads​

For reloads that take hours, do not wait in the flow. Start the reload with Reload app and let a second flow react with the trigger When an app reload finishes (see Triggers).

Reports​

The report actions wait until Qlik Cloud has created the file and then return it as a file. Reports need Qlik Reporting in your Qlik Cloud subscription.
