Files
Some actions return a file – a report, an exported app, a media file – and some take one, for example Import app or Upload data file. ancoreMate passes files on as real files with name and content, so you can save them or attach them to a mail without expressions.
Actions with files
| Returns a file | Takes a file |
|---|---|
| Export sheet, Export chart, Export chart data, Create report from template | Import app (QVF) |
| Export app (QVF) | Upload data file |
| Get app media file | Upload app media file |
| Download report file, Download report files (ancoreShare) |
File names
Without a name of your own, the file is named after the sheet, chart, template or app with the time in UTC, for example Customers_2026-10-02_1015.pdf. Enter File name to choose the name yourself, for example Sales.pdf.
Power Automate
An action that returns a file has two outputs:
- File name – the name of the file, and
- File content – the file itself.
Use them directly, for example in SharePoint Create file (File Name and File Content) or as an attachment in Outlook Send an email (V2) (Name and Content).
For actions that take a file, pass File content from a previous step, for example Get file content from SharePoint or OneDrive.
n8n
- A node that returns a file puts it into the binary field named in Put Output File in Field (default
data), ready for nodes such as Gmail, Google Drive or Write Binary File. - A node that takes a file reads it from the binary field named in Input Binary Field of the incoming item.
Size limits
| Direction | Limit |
|---|---|
| File returned by an action | 50 MB |
| File sent to an action | 30 MB |
| ancoreShare report files included in the trigger | 50 MB together |
If Export app reports that the app with its data is larger than 50 MB, turn on Without data, or use Copy app to duplicate the app within Qlik Cloud. Apps in a managed space can only be exported without data.
Qlik Cloud has no interface to download the content of a data file. Data files can be uploaded, replaced, copied, listed and deleted, and loaded by apps. To get data out of Qlik Cloud, use Export chart data or Get table data.
